BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Yates man who is serving a two-year tribal jail sentence for assaulting a federal officer has now been given three years of federal probation.
U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 26-year-old Tator Bendickson-Claymore pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of assaulting and resisting a federal officer. Authorities say he became combative while being booked into jail in March, pushing a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer into a wall and choking the officer.
The officer used a Taser to subdue Bendickson-Claymore, who had been arrested following a report that he was fighting with family members.
