Officials ID St. Thomas, ND, Man Killed in Collision With Beet Harvester North of Grafton

NEAR GRAFTON, ND (WDAZ-TV) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the St. Thomas, ND, man killed in an accident north of Grafton early Friday morning.

NEAR GRAFTON, ND (WDAZ-TV) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the St. Thomas, ND, man killed in an accident north of Grafton early Friday morning.

The patrol says 32-year-old Guadalupe Tanguma Jr., was killed when his 1997 blue Ford Contour collided head-on with a tractor carrying a 12 row harvester on U.S. Highway 81 just before 2 a.m.

The northbound John Deere 8350 tractor was driven by 44-year-old Craig Adamson of Grafton, who wasn't injured.

Tanguma was found dead at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle, 20-year-old Carolyn Canto, of Corpus Christi, TX, was injured and taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks via Valley Ambulance.

Both occupants of the Ford were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated.

The Ford had severe damage to the entire vehicle, according to an accident report.

The John Deere 8350 tractor had moderate damage to the front left of the harvester.

Investigation of the accident continues by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
