Christmas is quickly sneaking up on us and so is the deadline for donations to the Salvation Army.
As of last Thursday, December 17th, the Salvation Army was at the half way point of their goal of $267,000.
Salvation Army officials say this last week before Christmas is when communities tend to rally.
And while bell ringers say they are seeing local donations increase, nationally the program is down 20% to 30%.
Bell Ringer Lynn Woinarowicz says, "Everybody needs help at one point or another and I think that's the way people should be, totally. That's our North Dakota motto basically, help somebody out in need."
Don't forget if you want to help someone out, the WDAZ Salvation Army Challenge is going on tonight, December 21st, at Home of Economy in Grand Forks.
Reporters, photographers, and anchors from WDAZ will be there from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m ringing the bell.
