Employees of Warroad-based Marvin Windows and Doors will not get their yearly profit-sharing bonus this year according to the company.

Saturday the company told employees that there was no profit to share this year. And instead of layoffs the yearly profit-sharing bonus is being witheld. Earlier this year the company announced 32 hour work weeks to avoid layoffs and also cut salaries by 5 percent.

Last year the company did share 6.3 million in profits with its employees. But even then it was a decrease from 2007, when profits shared were 13 million. The company is blaming the slowing national housing market for a slow down in sales. Company spokesman John Kirchner says the company is preparing for a similar year in 2010.
