The Student Wellness Center at the University of North Dakota celebrated its 5th year on campus with an open house Tuesday night.
The wellness center was open to the public for tours, cooking classes, group fitness, and rock wall climbing.
Over the past five years, employees have worked to educate students on the different dimensions of wellness.
The wellness center has grown since it open its doors with more students taking advantage of the facility.
"We have about 100 more people using the wellness center on a daily basis, 1,000 more in a month, 55,000 more than when we actually first opened our doors in a given year. So a pretty big impact in just five years," Wellness Center Director of Operations Yvette Halverson said.
The event also featured guest alumnus speaker Daniel Howell. Howell is a registered dietitian, licensed massage therapist, and certified personal trainer.
