Hundreds Of Kids Get Free Halloween Costumes

Over 200 children in the Grand Forks area had a chance to pick out a new Halloween costume at no cost today.

Over 200 children in the Grand Forks area had a chance to pick out a new Halloween costume at no cost today.

The annual St. Joseph's Halloween Costume Giveaway provides costumes for low income families.

The event provided 230 costumes to about 90 families last year.

With more donations this year, kids of all ages had hundreds of costumes to choose from while they enjoyed spending the day with their family.

"We decided to come together and have a day of fun where they can play some games, paint pumpkins or gourds, decorate cookies, have lunch and then pick out a costume," St. Joseph's Social Care Executive Director Joann Brundin said.

St. Joseph's will collect new and gently used costumes all year for next fall's giveaway.
