Hillsboro, ND, Man Dies of Injuries in Beet Topper Crash

HALSTAD, MN (WDAZ-TV) – A Hillsboro, ND, man has died eleven days after he collided with a beet topper being pulled by a tractor west of Halstad.

HALSTAD, MN (WDAZ-TV) – A Hillsboro, ND, man has died eleven days after he collided with a beet topper being pulled by a tractor west of Halstad.

Donald Thorson, 76, who was driving a 1993 Oldsmobile, and his wife and passenger, Lois Thorson, 75, were taken to Sanford Medical Center.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. on Highway 200. Their car collided with the front corner of a beet topper being pulled by a tractor on a bridge over the Red River, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

Thorson died Saturday morning.

The driver of the tractor, Jesus B. Sanchez, 43, address unknown, wasn’t injured, the patrol said.
