GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The man accused of firing a handgun inside a Grand Forks home is back in jail after violating his bond agreement.

Daryl Lee Nikle, 56, is being held at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center after he tested positive for alcohol use.

Nikle had to test for alcohol twice a day, in the morning and evening, at the Correctional Center.

Prosecuting attorney Nancy Yon said that Nikle had earlier posted bail and was released after he allegedly fired a handgun inside a home at 2202 7th Ave. N. on October 2.

The bullet struck a TV and went through a wall.

There were three people in the home at the time, but no one was injured.

Police recovered the handgun and ammunition from the home.

Nikle has a preliminary hearing on November 14.

He has numerous previous convictions for traffic violations.
