LARIMORE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Veterans Day events continued Friday evening in Larimore with a program called "A Tribute to the Vietman Vet: Welcome Home."

All veterans, particularly Vietnam vets, were the honored guests.

Students, faculty and administrators played a large part in the production which included a video tributes and a parade of veterans.

The program honoring veterans tonight at the Larimore High School was hosted by the Larimore High School FCCLA and the Ladies Auxillary.

The Vietnam veterans were especially proud to be honored.

"The reason we do this is the response we get from the veterans and how honored they are to be honored the way we honor them," Larimore auxiliary member Joan Anderson said.

"I think, because of all of the issues that existed when the Vietnam veterans were actually in Vietnam, they were isolated in many ways. Their homecomings weren't celebrated, and I think it's about time. They deserve it, and we deserve it," retired U.S. Air Force member Colleen Ross said.

Following the program was a turkey supper and dance at the American Legion Hall.
