Grand Forks, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Black Friday is still 12 days away, but shoppers are getting an early start on the gift buying. People are already lining up outside store doors before opening hours.
"It's chaotic to say the least, you can definitely hear everyone run in the store right when you open the doors," Target employee Jered Ewing said.
You would think holiday shoppers would be eagerly awaiting Black Friday deals, but most are already cutting big checks.
"It's a lot busier in here. Our TV's and our cameras, we sell quite a few this time of year and it's definitely an increase here," Target electronics employee Brennan Hack said.
And shoppers aren't just breaking out their wallets before Black Friday to beat the crowds. Prices are already low.
"With electronics, the prices are a lot cheaper and with our dollar almost at par with the United States or very close right now--it makes a lot of sense for us to drive down, especially if we're coming for a full weekend we can go stay in a hotel and have a good weekend," shopper Levi Wiens said.
It isn't just folks from Grand Forks. Levi and his wife came from Canada for good deals.
"I'm a last minute Christmas shopper. My wife, on the other hand, is doing some Christmas shopping so a little of each. We're here with another couple and yes, our SUV is very full," Wiens said.
"Of course Black Friday's gonna have great deals, but leading up to Black Friday, there are awesome prices on a lot of different devices right now," Ewing said.
And you don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to find great buys. Most stores are already lowering prices.
Tv's, video games and cameras are at discounted prices. Shoppers can find deals online as well.
