The Salvation Army's holiday campaign in the Lake Region is still going on, and still short of reaching its goal this year. It's hoping to raise a total of $20 thousand, but as of Monday it was still short $4600.

Bell ringers have been manning several red kettles at local stores. Grocery stores like Wally's have also been collecting money by selling paper kettles. The Salvation Army has also been collecting toys and clothing for kids' Christmas gifts.

Brian Skaar/Salvation Army Field Representative: "We'll be ringing the bells until tomorrow and they can still get donations in until the end of the year."

Skaar says this year the Salvation Army in the Lake Region has helped more people than in any other year.
