Weekend Snow Likely to Miss Northern Red River Valley; Thanksgiving Looks Good

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - It looks like the weekend will be largely flake free for those of us in the northern Red River Valley.

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - It looks like the weekend will be largely flake free for those of us in the northern Red River Valley.

The National Weather Service says accumulating snow is possible in far southern North Dakota on Friday night into Saturday, but the heaviest snow is expected to be across South Dakota.

The storm could still move farther north, increasing chances for snow across southern and central North Dakota.

Light snow is expected south of I-94 in southeast North Dakota and west central Minnesota. Accumulations could reach three inches at the ND and South Dakota border.

After the weekend snow threat, mild and dry weather should return by the middle of Thanksgiving week.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 31. Southwest wind 8 to 14 mph becoming northwest. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. North northwest wind between 11 and 14 mph.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 21. North wind between 14 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4. North northwest wind between 6 and 11 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 21.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 12.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 28.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 17.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 38.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Thanksgiving Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 39.
