BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Mario Lamoureux's first goal of the season broke a tie late in the third period, leading North Dakota to a 5-2 win over Bemidji State on Saturday.

With the game tied 2-2, Lamoureux skated in and beat Dan Bakala with a wrister at 15:22. North Dakota (4-6-1, 2-5-0) added two more goals to give the Fighting Sioux their 22nd win in 24 games all-time against the Beavers (4-8-1, 2-6-1).

Bemidji State's only win over North Dakota was a 7-5 victory on Feb. 7, 1970.

Bemidji State took the lead early when Brance Orban scored just 2:11 into the first period. North Dakota answered just five seconds into a power play when Corban Knight poked a rebound under Beavers goalie Dan Bakala at 6:49.

The Sioux went up 2-1 early in the second period, when Brendan O'Donnell swatted a rebound past Bakala. It was O'Donnell's first career goal.

North Dakota held the lead until the 1:12 mark of the third period, when Shea Walters got the equalizer with a slap shot for a tough angle. Walters took a pass through the crease deep in the right circle and one-timed it past Dell for a 2-2 tie.

Brock Nelson had two goals, including a power play and an empty-netter for North Dakota's last two scores. Corban Knight added a goal.

Aaron Dell made 23 saves, giving up goals to Brance Orban in the first period and Shea Walters in the third.

Bakala had 31 saves for Bemidji State.
