GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Police report several suspicious phone calls that claim the user's debit card has been locked.
The automated message gives an 800 number to call in order to unlock the card, with an option to push a certain number in order to have the call transferred.
After calling the number or transferring, the caller is then asked to enter their debit car number.
Police urge local residents to be cautious if they receive a similar phone call. Check with your bank or credit card company before providing any information.
