CROOKSTON, Minn. – An 18-year-old man suffered injuries not deemed life-threatening after colliding with a semi on Highway 2 west of here Thursday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Jeremy L. Frydenlund of Crookston was westbound on Highway 2 when he looked down to adjust his car’s radio.

Frydenlund looked up to see that a semi driven by William R. Prouty, 42, of Harris, had turned into the same lane from the Highway 75 bypass.

Frydenlund attempted to get into the other lane to avoid hitting Prouty, but the vehicle went out of control, spun around, fishtailed and hit the side of Prouty’s semi.

Frydenlund’s car managed to pass in front of Prouty’s truck, and ended up in the center grass median.

Prouty wasn’t injured.
