SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Police have identified the four aboard the plane that crashed this afternoon near Sioux Falls Regional Airport, the Argus Leader is reporting on its website.
Listed as being on board the plane were pilot Brian Blake, 54, of Sioux Falls and passengers Kevin Anderson, 50, of Sioux Falls; Joshua Lambrecht, 30, of Brandon; and Daniel Swets, 47, of Sioux Falls, according to a press release written by Sgt. Darren McClary of the Sioux Falls Police Department.
Next of kin have been notified; however, positive identification has not been made at this point, according to the release.
The Rapid City-bound plane left the runway at about 2:30 p.m. but immediately experienced some kind of plane trouble, the Argus Leader reported. The pilot tried to turn around and crashed about a quarter of a mile from the airport, according to Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Chief Jim Sideras.
