GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The Northlands Rescue Mission needs to make about $200,000 in the next two weeks to meet its goal to help those who need a place to stay.
The "Mission Of Hope" campaign raised nearly $500,000 last year.
This year the goal is $600,000 and it has only raised a little over half of that.
Organizers say the number of people needing shelter and a meal has almost doubled over the past couple of years.
"We just let people know $12 will help provide three meals and a night of lodging, which are our core services. It actually costs us about $35 to do everything that we do. But if people just want to make sure people are out of the cold and have food and that sort of thing, $12 can make a difference," executive director David Sena said.
