ABERCROMBIE, N.D. (AP) — Richland County authorities have arrested a man in an incident that involved a vehicle rollover, a manhunt and the accidental firing of a deputy's gun.
Authorities allege that 33-year-old Darin Gilsdorf of Dwight was driving a pickup that rolled off a county road near Abercrombie on Tuesday night. They say Gildorf and people who stopped to assist helped his 61-year-old father from the vehicle, and then Gildorf fled on foot.
Officers searched four hours Tuesday night, then arrested Gildorf about midday Wednesday on a return check to the family home. Authorities say a deputy's gun was accidently discharged when they apprehended Gildorf but they did not provide details other than to say no one was hurt.
Gildorf was treated for a head injury in the pickup crash and jailed.
