MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — One especially generous donor is doing his or her part to make sure the needy in the Twin Cities have a happy holiday season.
The Salvation Army says on five separate occasions, an anonymous donor has slipped $1,000 donations into a red kettle. The gestures come in the form of 10 tightly folded $100 bills.
A Minneapolis Star Tribune report (http://bit.ly/tuOdNY ) says the donations began late last month, twice in Roseville and once in Shoreview. One more showed up last week in St. Anthony, and a fifth this week in Maplewood.
Salvation Army spokeswoman Annette Bauer says the organization believes all five donations are from the same person because of the proximity of the locations.
She says no bell ringers on duty noticed the wads of cash being donated.
