GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Children in Grand Forks are learning how to make delicious holiday snacks. The Grand Forks Public Library hosted its 4th annual "Kids in the Kitchen", for kids in kindergarten to 6th grade.

The Grand Forks Public Library was packed with kids anxious to learn a few tips from chef, Noelle Myers.

"Just like to pass my passion onto somebody else and I like to do something where the kids can be hands on and maybe learn to eat a little bit healthier," said Chef, Noelle Myers.

Myers says she enjoys making creations in the kitchen and wants to inspire kids that holiday cooking can be fun.

"Something that they can do themselves, it's almost like a craft but they can eat it, that they would have fun, learn a little bit about food," said Myers.

"Eh I like sweets more," said food lover, Sacha Ridley.

Even though the snacks involved something else rather than sweets and chocolates the kids still couldn't stop from stuffing their face.

"This one's the best one," said food lover, Matthew Ridley

"I always like it when I come to kids in the kitchen because I learn so much and you can cook as much as you want," said Ridley.

The UND women's basketball team joined in on the fun too and they couldn't stop from chowing down either.

"We like to get out in the community and show that we care and give them the support they've given us back," said UND Women's Basketball Captain, Nicole Smart.
