The Near North Neighborhood in Grand Forks won't be getting the rest of a $1 million grant to improve home ownership.
Over the past two years, the Knight Foundation has paid out $356,000 of the grant, but decided to end the four year grant early.
The city of Grand Forks could only buy and refurbish one house in the neighborhood, because the housing market didn't have enough problem properties.
The rest went to neighborhood projects.
"But we've really been successful in the engagement part of it where we brought the community together or the neighborhood together and people, you know, getting out knowing their neighbors," Urban Development Director Greg Hoover said.
The city will now focus its development and community-building efforts in the Near South Neighborhood.
