(WDAZ-TV) - A Bemidji man is in custody after an assault and high-speed chase in Wilton, MN.

Beltrami County Sheriff's deputies were responding to a call about an assault with a knife Saturday morning when they spotted the suspect's vehicle and tried to stop it.

But 56-year-old Ricky Lee Lidel took off to the east on Highway 2.

The chase hit speeds over 100 miles an hour before Lidel abandoned his vehicle.

He tried to get away on foot, but was quickly captured.
