TONOPAH, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol says three members of a Reno family were killed and a North Dakota man was badly hurt in a head-on crash that investigators believe was triggered by a blown tire on a two-lane highway about 10 miles north of near Tonopah.

Trooper Chuck Allen says the blow-out apparently sent a Ford pickup driven by 55-year-old Harvey Gee of Manning, N.D., skidding into oncoming lanes of U.S. 95 about 3 p.m. Monday.

The pickup slammed into a Toyota Sequoia, killing the driver, 37-year-old Marie Lagman, and her parents, 67-year-old Nieves Lagman and 68-year-old Augusto Lagman.

Allen says Gee was flown by medical helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

His condition was not made public on Tuesday.
