MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A man wanted in recent bank robberies in North Dakota and Minnesota may be responsible for yet another robbery in the Twin Cities area.

The FBI says a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Arden Hills was robbed Wednesday morning by a man who approached a teller with a note demanding cash. After receiving cash, the robber left the bank.

FBI spokesman Kyle Loven said authorities believe he is the same man responsible for robbing a Bank of the West branch in Fargo, N.D., on New Year's Eve and a U.S. Bank branch in Bloomington, Minn., on Monday.

Meanwhile, Fargo authorities said they are searching for 43-year-old William St. John, who is believed responsible for the Fargo and Bloomington bank robberies. St. John was released from a federal prison in Missouri in mid-December after serving five years behind bars for larceny and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Fargo Police Lt. Joel Vettel said St. John is a South Dakota native who has friends in Fargo. Authorities said St. John was captured on video surveillance and identified by a South Dakota-based federal agent who knew him.

Authorities believe St. John is armed.
