New Year's Baby

The first Grand Forks baby of the new year waited to come into the world just in time for the new year.

The first Grand Forks baby of the new year waited to come into the world just in time for the new year. Natasha Cathelynne Axt was born at 2:23 this morning.

She was 7 pounds 11 point 5 ounces and 20 and 3/4 inches long.

Natasha's parents are Cassandra and Joshua. They say she waited to steal the glamour of the new year.

Cassandra Axt says, "She was waiting for it because our due date was December 30th. I mean she waited just so she could have the spotlight on herself."

Natasha and her parents will be taking home a basket filled with gifts from area businesses for being the New Year's baby. The gifts are worth $1,000.
