This is a sound that many of us are used to hearing. It's the sound of your car not starting in these record-breaking lows, and it's mainly because of your battery.

Travis Fleck/Tow Truck Driver: If people don't need to drive I just don't recommend driving, because if you need a boost one night, more than likely it's not going to start the next day, so I would just wait till the cold snap is over to get your car started.
The calls that the 32nd Avenue Cenex are getting are mostly battery jumps and people locking keys in cars as they warm their vehicles up. With the flood of calls coming in, they ask you to be patient.

And if the temperatures continue to stay near record lows, towing companies will continue to stay busy.
Tiry also says the best thing you can do keep your car starting in the morning is to get a block heater and add heat to your car's gas tank so that your gas lines don't freeze.
