Accumulating Snowfall Expected Sunday

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - An accumulating snowfall is expected to begin in the region beginning Saturday night and continuing Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks.

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - An accumulating snowfall is expected to begin in the region beginning Saturday night and continuing Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks.

It may begin as a brief period of freezing rain in the southern Red River Valley.

Snow is expected on Sunday, with the highest accumulations from Devils Lake to Grand Forks and to Baudette. Three to five inches are possible in those areas, with localized amounts of six inches possible.

Roads will become snow-covered and slick on Sunday, so use caution if you have to travel.

Winds will also increase Sunday, causing some blowing and drifting snow, especially in open areas.
