ND Police Train on Sex Predator Investigations

A group of North Dakota law enforcement officers will be getting training on how to investigate sex crimes committed over the Internet.

A group of North Dakota law enforcement officers will be getting training on how to investigate sex crimes committed over the Internet.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says 30 officers are attending Monday's session in Bismarck, and another one will be held in March. The state Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been holding the sessions since 2006.

Stenehjem says North Dakota has a problem with sexual predators trying to use the Internet to lure children.

The attorney general says investigators have to be careful to preserve evidence and make sure they aren't vulnerable to allegations of entrapment. He says the training will help bolster those skills.
