GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - A late Wednesday morning apartment fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage, according to the Grand Forks Fire Department.
The building was evacuated immediately and no one was injured.
Tenants say maintenance workers were in an apartment unit at 2300 Library Lane when the fire broke out in a wall on the third floor. It extended into the ceiling of a bathroom.
One of those workers suffered a minor burn to his hand trying to get the fire out before the fire department was called.
The damage was contained to two apartment units and a hallway. Smoke damage was reported throughout the building.
Some residents in the building saw smoke coming from the end of the hall where the apartment is located.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The American Red Cross is providing housing for displaced tenants.
