GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - One Grand Forks family had some unusual guests appear on their doorstep: five wild turkeys who seem to be very friendly.

It all started two weeks ago when Larry and Kim Young noticed some turkeys roosting in the trees near their home in the Burke Addition.

The turkeys made their way closer to the Young's home and there is no sign of them leaving anytime soon.

The family has lived there more than 20 years and have never seen anything like it.

"We kept seeing them in the neighborhood. They'd show up and run around and we se them roosting in the trees at night in our backyard. We check in the morning or evening, different times of day, they'll just show up and they'll walk around in the woods, but they move pretty quickly," Larry Young said.

The Youngs are keeping an eye on the birds and making sure they stay safe.
