FARGO – Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum says he’s coming to North Dakota “very soon.”

The former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania made the comment during local radio personality Scott Hennen’s live broadcast today from the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C.

Santorum thanked Hennen’s listeners for their support in his recent caucus win in Minnesota, then said he hopes “that the folks of North Dakota are similarly disposed.”

“We’re going to be up there very soon,” he said.

Hennen said details of Santorum’s visit would be announced on his radio show on Monday. He said the North Dakota visit will be sometime next week.

Santorum, one of four Republicans still in the running for the GOP nomination, said he feels bad that he has never visited North Dakota, though he’s been close several times.

“So, I’m actually really looking forward to learning about what you’re doing in North Dakota ... the magic, the North Dakota magic that’s going on right now,” he said. “We know what it is. I talked about it in my speech. It’s all about creating energy and creating the good-paying jobs that, you know, can make rural America work.”
