MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A teenage boy has been found dead near railroad tracks in northeast Minneapolis, and his mother says he had been train-hopping with friends when he died.

The Hennepin County medical examiner identified the boy as Christopher Hanson. A Minneapolis Star Tribune report (http://bit.ly/y2FNik ) says he died of head injuries.

Police say a railroad employee found the boy dead Thursday night.

Hanson's mother, Melissa Standal, tells the Star Tribune her son had been hanging out with two friends when he died. His friends told her Christopher hopped onto a moving train but didn't jump off when his friend did.

Standal says she had warned her son that jumping onto moving trains was dangerous.

A BNSF Railway spokeswoman says no train crew had reported any incident at that location.
