'Port Runner' Apprehended Near Lancaster

LANCASTER, MN (WDAZ-TV) - A Winnipeg man was apprehended Thursday night after speeding through the Lancaster port of entry.
At about 9 p.m., a dark midsized pickup drove through the port at a high rate of speed without stopping for inspection. Border Patrol agents were immediately dispatched and stopped the vehicle south of the port.
A 25-year-old man from Winnipeg was driving the pickup. He was taken back to the Pembina port of entry and given a $5,000 penalty.
The possible penalties for port running are a $5,000 to $10,000 fine, vehicle seizure and criminal prosecution.
