Knight, Gregoire lead UND past MSUM
Sioux win 4-1 for first WCHA victory since Dec. 4
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota received two goals each from its leading scorer and an unexpected source in defeating Minnesota State 4-1 Friday in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play.
Jason Gregoire ran his goal total to 10 - the highest on the team - and freshman Corban Knight scored his second and third goals as No. 5-ranked UND ran its record to 11-6-4 overall and 7-6-0 in the WCHA.
Gregoire and Knight each scored once in the first period and the second period as the Fighting Sioux took a 4-1 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
Defenseman Ben Youds scored his first goal of the season for Minnesota State (11-10-2, 5-9-1).
Brad Eidsness made 18 saves for UND and Phil Cook and Austin Lee combined for 29 saves for the Mavericks.
