CRYSTAL, Minn. (AP) — A man and a woman were arrested Wednesday and authorities searched their home after police were told that an infant might have died there under suspicious circumstances years ago.

Police Chief John Banick said authorities searched the home in the 5700 block of Quail Avenue. A body had not been found as of Wednesday afternoon.

A search of the home's backyard was also planned, but the ground was being thawed before excavation could begin. It wasn't clear when digging would start.

Banick said officers were told of the possible death on Tuesday while they were investigating a domestic assault.

"While conducting an investigation, they received information that there may be an infant that passed away several years ago and may be on that property," he said. He had no details on the assault.

The 30-year-old man and 28-year-old woman who live at the house were arrested. Police said the man was being held on suspicion of murder of an unborn child, and the woman on suspicion of manslaughter of an unborn child.
