North Star Holds Off Shiloh Christian 52-50

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Jacob Hagler powered top-ranked North Star to a 52-50 semifinal victory over Shiloh Christian Friday at the North Dakota Class B boys basketball tournament.

The junior guard scored 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out nine assists to help the defending champion Bearcats run their winning streak to 53 games. Hagler sealed the win with a pair of free throws with nine seconds remaining.

Daniel Grande scored 12 points and Colton Braun 11 for North Star (26-0). Grande and Alex Weston each blocked three shots for the Bearcats, who advanced to the title game for the second straight year.

Aaron Hultstrand led the Skyhawks with 17 points and eight rebounds. Matt Rask finished with 14 points for Shiloh Christian (22-4), which will play for third place.
