Souper Bowl FundraiserThe ninth annual Souper Bowl fundraiser was held in Grafton to raise support for victims of domestic violence.
The "souper" bowl came early for some people in Grafton...
but it had nothing to do with football... and everything to do with helping those affected by domestic abuse.
The Domestic Violence and Abuse Center held its ninth annual Souper Bowl Fundraiser in Grafton this morning.
Workers dished out more than 20 varieties of hot soup, all of it donated.
Donations raised from the feed will support victims of domestic violence who are displaced from their homes and seeking help.
"There are people out there that need this and domestic violence seems to be a situation where people don't talk about it publicly, it makes people prisoners in their own homes," DVAC Executive Director Jolene Halldorson said.
The center also set out empty place-settings at the fundraiser, each one signifying a person in the area who has died as a result of domestic violence.
