GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota senior goalie Brad Eidsness made 29 saves as the Fighting Sioux concluded the regular season with a 3-0 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over Minnesota State, Mankato on Saturday.

North Dakota (20-12-3, 16-11-1) will open the WCHA playoffs next weekend at home, while the Mavericks (12-22-2, 8-18-2) travel to Minnesota Duluth.

Eidsness got the start in his last regular season home game and notched his third career shutout.

"It was a nice way for him to finish and he had to work for it," North Dakota coach Dave Hakstol said. "He earned his start tonight and earned the shutout."

Eidsness made 11 saves in the first period.

Mark MacMillan had a goal in the first period and Nick Mattson added a second-period score on the power play. Brock Nelson scored his 23rd goal into an empty net.

The Sioux outshot the Mavericks 30-29.
