SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A 13-year-old student at a Sioux Falls middle school faces drug charges after officials say they found more than a pound of dope in his backpack.
Police say the incident at Edison Middle School began Monday when a 14-year-old girl showed off a small bag of marijuana to her classmates, who turned her in. She was arrested for possessing the drug.
Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the boy was bragging at lunch about having sold the marijuana to the girl and was telling others he had more for sale. Fellow students turned him in and he was arrested on several drug charges.
Clemens says the girl was released to her parents but the boy was taken to a juvenile jail.
