BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Polls are closed and the counting has started at nearly 60 caucus sites in North Dakota.
The state is among the 10 taking part in so-called Super Tuesday, in which 419 delegates are at stake in determining which Republican candidate will run against President Barack Obama in November.
North Dakota has 28 delegates up for grabs.
Candidate Ron Paul, who spoke to voters in Fargo, has one of his best shots in the fiscally conservative state, and thousands gathered to support him. But plenty of voters carryied banners for Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney. Supporters for Newt Gingrich, who did not campaign in North Dakota, seemed harder to find.
Results aren't expected for at least a couple of hours as volunteers count ballots and determine the outcome.
