BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — It'd be tough to argue that Rick Santorum's Super Tuesday win in North Dakota has much to do with money. The former Pennsylvania senator had raised just $5,400 in the state — less than even GOP presidential defectors Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Tim Pawlenty.
Federal Election Committee reports show that the only one-time mainstream candidate who raised less money in North Dakota was Texas Gov. Rick Perry with $3,500.
Meanwhile, Ron Paul raked in $50,000. That surpasses not only his rivals, but also President Barack Obama, who so far has $32,000 in North Dakota dollars.
