FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Mack Arvidson had a double-double and Mac Kroeplin added 22 points as Grand Forks Red River beat Bismarck St. Mary's 73-57 Thursday in the first round of the North Dakota boys Class A basketball tournament.
Arvidson had 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Roughriders (21-2), who outscored the Saints 35-23 in the second half.
Kroeplin made 10 of 16 shots from the field and had one of Red River's five 3-pointers. Ricky Farroh had 11 points.
Scott Nagel led St. Mary's (14-9) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Brian Obritsch had 11 points and seven rebounds and Ben Weisbeck added 11 points.
