(WDAZ-TV) - A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper and the driver of a semi were uninjured after a collision just south of the Pembina Port of Entry shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of the 2007 Freightliner with a Wilson trailer, Alvin B. Brandt, 77, of Blumenort, Manitoba, was heading south on Interstate 29 from the port in the right-hand lane.

The trooper was driving south on I-29 as well, but in the left-hand lane.

Because of blowing snow and reduced visibility, the semi started to slide on the road and rotated clockwise toward the left lane. The back, left corner of the semi trailer collided with the right, front fender area of the patrol vehicle.

The semi jackknifed on the road and slid in the west ditch. The trooped ended up in the median.
