DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Lake Region students learned a variety of skills on Tuesday, hopefully to inspire them to be innovators. I was at the college as a presenter, showing and telling the youngsters how television news works.
Marketplace for Kids let kids from New Rockford to Larimore get learn the ins and outs from working professionals.
They learned about wildlife on Sullys Hill, recycling, and the medical profession.
I taught the kids a little about the ins and outs of television news. They learned how to film an interesting story, and even got their own chance to audition for a job.
Kids also got to show off their creativity with an invention fair featuring fresh products from young minds. It's all to show the kids there are many ways to change the world.
But of course the lesson most of the kids took was that it's fun to get a day off from school.
