DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — The president of Lake Region State College in Devils Lake has accepted an offer to become the next president of a community college in Ohio.

Sixty-two-year-old Mike Bower will head Owens Community College starting in July. It has campuses in suburban Toledo and Findlay.

Bower has been president of Lake Region State since 2008. The Ohio native tells KZZY radio that it's not an easy decision to leave, but he and his wife want to be closer to family.

Owens Board of Trustees Chairwoman Dee Talmage says in a statement that Bower is highly respected in the higher education community and has extensive experience as an academic leader.
