Grafton Beats Linton-HMB 76-54 for State Title

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The Grafton Spoilers made their first appearance in a North Dakota girls Class B basketball tournament a memorable one, beating Linton-HMB 76-54 on Saturday night to win the first state title in school history.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The Grafton Spoilers made their first appearance in a North Dakota girls Class B basketball tournament a memorable one, beating Linton-HMB 76-54 on Saturday night to win the first state title in school history.

The Spoilers made eight appearances in the Class A tournament.

Hanna Thompson led the way for Grafton (26-1), hitting five 3-pointers and scoring 23 points. She helped spark the Spoilers to a fast start, opening up a 19-6 lead early.

Samantha DeSautel scored 13 points and Cassie Thompson 12 for Grafton, which shot 57 percent from the field. DeSautel dished out six assists.

McKenna Flyberg scored 13 points and Kayln Schneider 12 for Linton-HMB (20-7).
