BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Mexican citizen who served prison time in Texas for crimes including murder has been sentenced in North Dakota for illegally re-entering the country a second time.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 43-year-old Leopoldo Rodriguez-Isles was deported for his Texas crimes in 2008, re-entered the country illegally in 2010 and was deported again about a year ago. Last August, he was found in Williams County in northwest North Dakota.

He pleaded guilty in October to a charge of re-entry of a deported alien and was sentenced last week to four years and nine months in federal prison.
