PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) — A 25-year-old man is jailed on charges he assaulted the police chief of Pelican Rapids.
Police Chief Jeff Stadum was following a man last month because of "crazy driving" downtown.
Stadum followed the man to his home and was trying to arrest him when the man allegedly threw the police chief to the ground and hurt his back.
Stadum called for help and another officer arrested the man, Jacob Robert Miltich of Pelican Rapids.
KBRF-AM (http://bit.ly/r11BGJ) reports Miltich is charged in Otter Tail County with felony assault on a police officer, obstructing the legal process, and inflicting bodily harm. He was in jail Friday.
