DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Lake Region figure skaters are continuing a tradition started in the 1940s. Skaters of all ages laced it up on Friday night for the Lake Region Figure Skating Club's 66th annual ice show.

This year's show is called Cirque Sur Glace. Skaters ranging from 18 months to high school-aged put on circus-related routines, complete with juggling and a trapeze act.

Skating Club president Mark Estenson says the show is one of the longest ice traditions in the area.

"This is a very big tradition, the ice show in Devils Lake. We've been to ice shows in different cities and we've had people come her to Devils Lake and we probably put on the best show for any town around," Estenson said.

The ice show rill run again Saturday night 7 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
