NEAR ALEXANDRIA, MN (WDAZ-TV) - A Grand Forks man was pulled over for driving over 100 miles an hour not once, but twice, all in one hour.

Troopers say 31-year-old Murat Ayamba Ndikum of Grand Forks was ticketed going 100 miles per hour on Interstate 94 near Alexandria on March 13.

The speed limit there is set at 70 miles per hour.

Within that next hour, he was stopped again on the same road near Barnesville for going 106 miles per hour.

"Very rare to get a person back to back at these high speeds but it does happen and the reason for this seems to be unknown. The person in particular claimed that they did not realize they were driving that fast, even upon the second time he came in contact with the state trooper," Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow said.

Speeding over 100 miles per hour can result in a driver's license revocation or up to six months in jail.
